Random Bloggage About Books By Barry Lyga
Okay, so I haven't posted a new blog since like, September? Jeez, it's like I post one of these once every year. But that's not the point.I was going to do a book report on "The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and GothGirl" but the book was just so good that I read the whole thing in one day.
I know, the title sounds corny, but its REALLY good. Especially for me, who can relate to both Cal, Donnie, and Kyra. Jeez, Barry Lyga never fails to surprise me, he even used Bendis in the story. Yes! Bendis, the guy who created the Ultimate Spider-Man. AND POWERS! (: (Geek moment there much?) Oh well, I don't care. The ending of the book made me sad, but happy too.
I hated it when fans complained to Bryan that there was "no real ending" I mean seriously, it may have been a flop to you, but I thought it was touching. Just to get you into the book, here are quotes from the book itself. (Yes, if you haven't figured it out yet i'm trying to persuade you to buy the dang thing!)

I went on Barry's website today.(Barry Lyga being the amazing author of fanboy and gothgirl) I saw that he had a book out. Hero-Type. I got so excited when I saw it a few months ago at Barnes and Nobles, that's where I picked up Fanboy and GothGirl.(by accident too!)
But when I went there today, they only had Fanboy and Gothgirl. No Hero-Type. That made me sad ) :
Why is it that whenever I go to Barnes and Nobles they never have the book/graphic novel/comic book that I want. And it happens. ALL THE TIME!
I guess that's another thing I have in common with Fanboy.
It's so weird reading a book and actually relating to BOTH characters. Especially where one character is out of the other ones nightmares.
What I have in common with Fanboy?:
His luck, his want for a Mac computer, a near mint/mint condition of Giant Sized X-Men, his hate for bumper stickers that say "my kid can beat up your honor student" Fanboys allergic reaction to lung cancer/ciggarattes[i don't think i even spelled that right, but that's not the point] Love for Bendis. We don't smoke, or drink.
What I have in common with GothGirl?:
Constanly wearing black, and at least one necklace.(even if it's not a cool smiley face like Kyras D: ) Loss of one parent, can be extremely violent, we're both crazy. We basically have the same reaction to people who are stupid. "It's like advertising you're a moron!" Oh, and we both sit on swings (:
So all of the quotes I used from the book were created by Barry Lyga. The author. You should pick up any of his books. And The Sequal of Fanboy and GothGirl which is coming out in Fall 2009(so excited!) Anyway, because this is a random blog, it needs randomness.

OH YEAH! And in one scene in the book Barry mentions Ranma! Gosh, I didn't think any author would know about that! Jeez, this is like a giant hug over the internet.[in a nonrabid crazy obbsessive fangirl way]
I don't really care if I'm rambling, It's supposed to be RANDOM right?
AND STARWARS! Jeez, how can you not leave that out in a convention scene?
