Razz Universe

Liz is back and this time with a different sort of blog. Everyone should be able to view as well as comment on this one. I did this because I'm asking for advice from pet owners, preferably dog owners. I ask of advice on my dogs for reasons explained further on. I also ask of readers to excuse any spelling or grammar errors that may show up. I will do my best to spell properly, however.

So heres a little prolog for people who don't know me that well. I have three dogs out of the 11 or so pets we have in our costody. They live inside the house with my brother, mother, father and I as in we don't make them live outside. Normally we don't have problems with them but the pup and middle dog don't seem to like each other as well as we had hoped.

The eldest dog is a female Japanese Shiba Inu named Duchess. Her coat is mainly black with some white on her belly and natural grays from aging. Then we have the middle dog who is a male mutt. His name is Bloo and he is a mix of a beagle and Austrailian cattle dog. His coat varys but is smooth. Then we have the newest edition and the youngest dog, Junior. He is also a male mutt like that of Bloo but much different looking and larger in size. (By-the-by there are pictures of all my dogs to view on my page on Razz Universe but is set so only friends can see.) Now Junior is 7 months old or so at the time of typing this blog and he is already taller then Duchess and she was the biggest dog before Junior. Being the kind of mutt he is, a foxhound and beagle (his looks favor the size of the foxhound and fur colorings of beagle), he is going to get even bigger.

Now we discuss the problem I am seeking more advice and opinions on. Junior has now become the tallest dog meaning he is bigger then both Bloo and Duchess in that category. Apparently Bloo has some dominance issues with Junior and it really doesn't help that Bloo hasn't exactly liked Junior that much since we got him. In fact, Bloo refused to even so much sniff Junior in curiosity he instead stayed near Mom and I (which for the first couple hours I did not like Junior myself because I didn't get good vibes or a connection at all for the first time in my life with a dog that being Junior).

Junior being the youngest dog is probably supposed be at the bottom of the totem pole if I'm not mistaken. Making Bloo the Alpha Male of the house as he is eldest male dog and more experienced then Junior. And Duchess's status stays Alpha Female as she is eldest female dog in the house hold and has more expeirenced then both Bloo and Junior. Not to mention Duchess doesn't take any shit from the other dogs and doesn't mind rough housing with them. See Junior is a kind of nutty dog, when we first got him he was quiet calm but now to say the least he is a hyper mayhem. As I've learned he too wants dominace like Bloo who has a few problems with his dominantness.

Now thats not really the problem persay but the problem is that they fight. Mother and I try to break it up while my father and brother want them to duke it out so that they can have the winner who would be overall dominant over the loser of the battle. The only problem with that is that they get too loud and end up hurting both each other and other people of the household. It doesn't help that Duchess sometimes gets involved herself just for the spite of it but thank God she's stopped that, for the most part. The time of battle between Bloo and Junior seems to be whn there is only one person around from what I know. I ask how should we handle this people. What do the readers think?

Well the way I've been handling it is grabbing Junior by the collar and keeping him away until I can get him inside his cage which is going to get too small for him soon and fending Bloo off the best I can. Junior will scratch up my legs a bit but Bloo normally gives flesh wounds. Most recently at the time of typing in the one on my left knee, there is a bite mark that drags on a bit and all around it is black and blue turning more so into a normal bruise (fabulous, isn't it?) and a few scratches that turned into cuts on my right thigh which don't affect me much. Despite getting a few 'boo-boos' I still try to break them up the best I can. Normally after I get Junior in the cage, Bloo gets muzzled.

I don't know if this would really relate but when they aren't fighting Bloo is almost always hiding whether its under the deck, under a table or behind something so we can't see him he hides. Bloo is getting a little older but he should be only about 3 years old at the time of typing so he should still be youthful, right?

*sighs* PHEW! That was a lot of typing and a lot of reading for you guys but PLEASE give me advice on this situation. I hope the information I have provided is good enough to form a conclusion, a solution or some an advice and such. Be sure to comment with your opinion and advice on the situation. All help is appreicated, thank you. Also I apologize fo how LONG this is.
